JOEL AMANI KOUAME TAKES THE HELM AT FARMERLINE AS REGIONAL MANAGER OF FRANCOPHONE AFRICA & COUNTRY MANAGER OF IVORY COAST

April 21, 2023

“I want to be part of the journey to improve the livelihoods of farmers in a sustainable way”  Joel Amani Kouame

Farmerline is delighted to announce the appointment of Joel Amani Kouame as Regional Manager Francophone Africa & Country Manager Ivory Coast.

With a career spanning over 20 years in private sector development, including major projects in energy, agriculture, maritime logistics, oil and gas, Joel is a valuable addition to the Farmerline team.

Before joining Farmerline, Joel held the position of Senior Economic and Trade Advisor at the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands in Cote d’Ivoire, where he played a pivotal role in managing and monitoring the bilateral relations between the Netherlands and Cote d’Ivoire, with a particular focus on agriculture (cocoa, cashew, horticulture, and poultry), transportation, port infrastructures, water management, manufacturing, and more.

‘Agriculture remains the core of our economies,’ says Joel. ‘By bringing big data management technologies and predictive analytics into farming and providing timely access to quality inputs, agronomic support, and a marketplace for smallholders, we can make the agricultural sector far more efficient, precise, and resilient in the face of environmental challenges and severe weather conditions, thereby improving the livelihoods of farmers.’

With his wealth of experience, knowledge, and management capabilities, Joel is an excellent complement to Farmerline’s growing team of seasoned executives across Africa.

Previously, he reopened the United Kingdom embassy in Abidjan, devised the UK government’s economic strategy, and launched the British Ivorian Chamber of Commerce in Côte d’Ivoire. Additionally, he has held several senior management positions in the banking sector, worked closely with Ivorian and foreign public institutions, and collaborated with various NGOs.

Joel holds an MBA in Finance, a certificate in Impact Investments, and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, making him a well-rounded executive who brings a wealth of expertise to the Farmerline team.

As we expand our operations, partnerships, and impact across Ivory Coast to support small-scale farmers in 2023 and beyond, we look forward to Joel’s leadership.
