Role Overview |
Farmerline is seeking dynamic and self-motivated individuals to join our team of field agents, also known as Farmerline GROW Ambassadors. The primary focus of this role is to drive sales, monitor credit activities, facilitate agribusiness digitization, conduct farmer profiling, and provide customer training within rural farming communities. The ideal candidate will be crucial in executing community-oriented marketing initiatives, below-the-line branding strategies, and impactful events as part of our GROW program within our commercial areas in target regions. You will report to the Agent Development Manager and work in close collaboration with the regional Commercial team to execute your assigned tasks and activities. You must have a background or experience in sales and credit monitoring/recovery within rural or farming communities. In addition, you must be tech-savvy with the ability to embrace and promote digital solutions. |
Responsibilities |
Key Responsibilities: - Sales:
- Actively engage in customer acquisition (agribusinesses and farmer groups) and achieve sales revenue targets.
- Implement effective sales strategies to promote the adoption of agribusiness solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with farmers and agribusinesses.
- Credit Monitoring & Recovery:
- Monitor credit activities, ensuring adherence to credit terms and recovery timelines.
- Implement efficient credit recovery strategies within rural farming communities.
- Collaborate with internal teams to minimize credit risks and optimize recovery processes.
- Agribusiness Digitization:
- Facilitate the digitization of agribusiness processes for clients.
- Provide technical support in adopting digital tools and platforms.
- Ensure seamless integration of agribusinesses into digital ecosystems.
- Agribusiness & Farmer Profiling:
- Conduct thorough KYC documentation for agribusinesses and farmers.
- Complete profiling processes, gathering relevant information for business analysis.
- Maintain accurate records of agribusinesses and farmers within the assigned territory.
- Customer Training:
- Develop and deliver training programs for agribusinesses and farmers within your territory to enhance customer knowledge and skills.
- Provide ongoing support to customers on product usage and best practices.
- Conduct workshops and sessions to address specific training needs.
Other responsibilities - Community Engagement:
- Develop and implement strategies to engage with local communities, farmers, and relevant stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with community leaders, agricultural organizations, and influencers.
- Below-the-Line (BTL) Branding Support
- Support the marketing team to implement BTL branding campaigns to enhance brand visibility and recognition in the target market.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to ensure BTL activities align with overall branding and communication strategies.
- Maintain a relationship and network of media partnerships to support local PR and brand promotion activities (radio, TV, online/digital, etc)
- Events Execution Support
- Support the marketing team to execute on-the-ground events, roadshows, workshops, and product demonstrations to showcase our agri-tech solutions, build our brand awareness, and generate high-quality leads for our business streams
- Actively participate in all other community activation events and initiatives to generate viable leads for the regional commercial teams and drive traffic to our partner shops. These include festivals and market entry activation events

Requirements |
Qualifications - Previous experience in credit recovery within microfinance or agency banking is essential.
- Knowledge of rural farming communities and agribusiness practices.
- Proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Tech-savvy with the ability to embrace and promote digital solutions.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within a team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Education & Experience - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Business, Agriculture, Finance, etc.).
- Previous experience in a sales or credit recovery role, preferably in agribusiness or microfinance.
